"American Idol" finalist Kristy Lee Cook recently signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/ Arista Nashville.
This will be the second time Cook, 24, has signed with the label — as a teen she was signed but was dropped before she recorded anything.
Her album, which will arrive in the fall, is being produced by Brett James, who co-wrote Carrie Underwood’s hit "Jesus Take the Wheel." The first single, called "15 Minutes of Shame," will be released August 11.
Cook will record the album this summer while touring with "American Idols Live." The tour kicks off Tuesday in Glendale, Ariz., and runs through September 13. , Fox News is reporting.

Police found no signs of a struggle. And friends said she had not been acting suicidal.
Now the Daily Telegraph has printed her posts on social networking websites, which seem to show the young woman had feelings of being lost, confused and unloved and suffered from mood swings. Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins talks about working with Britney on her new album. “Very dancey, really uptempo. Ya know… in the clubs, real aggressive, and catchy. Very very very hook friendly,” when asked about the track him and Britney worked on in the studio just 4 weeks prior. Ellen DeGeneres gave Portia de Rossi a glittering ring with pink diamonds for their upcoming wedding that will air in part on DeGeneres’s talk show.
"Yes, we have set a wedding date," said DeGeneres, who walked the red carpet with de Rossi at Friday night’s 35th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
De Rossi wore a green satin Lanvin gown and a Neil Lane ring on her wedding finger. The ring was a marquis cut diamond set with pink diamonds. Read On…
